Approvazione della variante generale al Piano Territoriale di Coordinamento del Parco Regionale e Naturale delle Groane

The Lombardy Region has approved the General Variation to the Territorial Coordination Plan (PTC) of the Groane and Brughiera Briantea Regional and Natural Park, a key strategic document for the protection, enhancement, and management of the Park's vast territory, which extends across the provinces of Milan, Monza and Brianza, and Como.

The PTC is the reference tool for planning the protected area: it defines the general objectives, protection and sustainable development strategies, and coordinates decisions with provincial and municipal urban planning tools. Pursuant to Regional Law 12/2005, the Plan has landscape and environmental value and provides binding guidelines for the protection of natural and landscape assets, sustainable mobility, management of strategic agricultural areas, and prevention of hydrogeological risks.

With the General Variation, the PTC is updated and integrated to meet the most recent needs for the protection, enhancement, and sustainable use of the territory, harmonizing with new regional and local planning tools.

The Park also includes the Fontana del Guercio Nature Reserve, an area of ​​great ecological and landscape value that represents one of the main biodiversity centers in the Groane area.
